Connected Communities
Connected Communities, a project of WRC, is an organization focused on research, planning, developing and deploying broadband connectivity infrastructure for rural and underserved areas of the U.S. and world.
Global Perspective, Local Impact: Our belief is that the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of connecting all adults in the world by 2030 is possible. Towards that end, Connected Communities provides the ideal scenario of fronting our projects by a recognized national / international non-profit, alongside public-private partnerships, moving at the speed of business while carefully paying attention, planning and weaving benefits for all stakeholders in each community we serve.
Our Solution
The Connected Communities process begins by looking at the systems-scale nature of a region, galvanizing the community behind a common vision, creating a tailored solution for the entire region that maximizes our Broadband for All ethos, then implementing and executing on the vision.
From downtown Detroit to rural Oklahoma, opportunities exist all around us to literally transform generations of citizens into everything from higher paying jobs, better education and healthcare to eliminating loneliness and desperation.
Like the railroads, electricity and telephones before, broadband is the next horizon and we must ensure that ALL Americans are connected, trained and participating.
