Aviation Certification, Airspace Access and Operations Expert Firm Joins Collaborative Advanced Mobility Community

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (Oct. 19, 2020)

End State Solutions and founding Chief Executive Officer Charlton Evans have joined the Advanced Mobility Collective to help accelerate innovative use of unmanned aerial systems with a broad range of experience in aviation certification, airspace access and professional aviation operations.

The Advanced Mobility Collective is a community for collaboration to bring new mobility services to life including autonomous air and ground vehicles. The Collective is a nonprofit global community of business, technology, government and research partners.

Evans, a commercial pilot and retired U.S. Marine Corps aviator, founded End State Solutions to assist small and large teams to successfully seize opportunities in the unmanned aircraft system industry, including strategically navigating the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory and certification process. In 2012, he managed the Type Certification “Pathfinder” effort for Insitu’s ScanEagle and in 2015 he led the ScanEagle’s beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flights for BNSF. In 2016 ScanEagle N202SE was inducted into the Smithsonian for these historic commercial operations. In 2017, Evans’ team responded to the Hurricane Harvey and to the Eagle Creek and Tubbs Complex fires with the ScanEagle.

“The Collective is a community of companies committed to an emerging industry evolving to develop real-world solutions,” Evans said. “We look forward to collaboration that advances the industry. We bring experience navigating political and technical challenges inherent in any emerging industry. We understand the regulators’ language and we can help companies by mapping a pathway through certification to revenue operations.”

Todd Spain, executive director of the Advanced Mobility Collective, added, “End State Solutions is a tremendous resource with a team of experts to help companies navigate a path through certification and regulatory compliance. Certification and safe operations are key factors leading adoption of advanced mobility and transportation innovation. End State Solutions has the experience to help our growing community.”

The Collective is continuing to build and expand its network of partners as an economic development initiative of The Wireless Research Center. Members of The Collective include WakeMed Health and Hospitals, the first U.S. health system to integrate drone technology for medical sample delivery.
